STG
Stargate is a native asset cross-chain bridge, currently focused on stablecoin cross-chains with unified liquidity and fast transaction finality, and is the first project based on the LayerZero protocol. Stargate is a cross-chain bridge that solves this triangle problem. With the two dimensions of unified liquidity and native asset pool, Stargate introduces an algorithm called Delta (Δ) to provide instant finality, which is essentially like a set of incentives and rewards for arbitrageurs to replenish the pool of illiquid funds.
Currently, asset cross-chain bridges generally face an impossible triangle dilemma, i.e., cross-chain bridges cannot simultaneously satisfy the following three requirements.
- Immediate finality guarantee: the guaranteed arrival of funds on the target chain when a transaction is successfully submitted on the target chain.
- Unified liquidity: shared access to a single pool of liquidity across multiple chains.
- Native Assets: Many cross-chain bridges perform asset cross-chain in the form of minting and destroying synthetic tokens, at which point the synthetic assets obtained are not the native assets the user wants, and need to be further redeemed.
The way many cross-chain bridges achieve instant finality is by “”locking native assets + minting synthetic assets | destroying synthetic assets + redeeming native assets””, which sacrifices the dimension of native assets. Stargate is the cross-chain bridge that solves this triangle problem. With the two dimensions of uniform liquidity and the pool of native assets, Stargate introduces an algorithm called Delta (Δ) to provide instant finality, which is essentially like a set of incentives and rewards to incentivize arbitrageurs to replenish the pool of illiquidity.
